my neighboor is moving and just gave me this old 1983 honda 3 wheeler...70 cc.....he said i just need to put new pointers in....can anybody help me out with this?

 

there called points.

it is apart of the ignition system. what it is a a mechanical interupter for the coil. you have to adjust them every once in a while. and after a long while they will just wear out and they need replacing.
