Default jet sportsman for winter???

I have a 2006 450 sportsman and my dealer said it was not necessary to rejet for winter. He said it would only help to start it and keep it goin until the engine is warm and once it's warm it would be fine. I also had a friend says "it's a 4 stroke, they dont need it". He has been riding 4's for years and never had an issue. Some say yes and some say no - whats right!? I dont wanna kill my first new ride

well some people do it both ways. its not really needed to change the jets but by doing it it does run and start a little better. but in your case i would leave it stock. if you were in an area thats cold most of the time then maybe but your not. leave them stock it'll be fine.

They are a little rich from the factory anyway, cold air will lean it out some. Should be fine to leave it stock. These are pretty versitile machines!
