Hi new to this forum and could us a lttle help. My quad is a 1995 magnum 425, just boght it used and went to use the 4awd and it did not work. Put it up on jacks and still had nothing in forward. But it would work in rev when I hold the override, like it should correct. Took the r front hub apart everything looked good. Now my question here is if I had a broken wire or a bad coil in the hub then it would not work in rev. neither, right. Any help would be great, Thanks Eric

Sounds like you have a bad switch in the shifter.Start checking by taking the top off the shifter and changing the oil in it.
Now you know the AWD light has to be lit up for the 4x4 to work.If it isnt on hold some presure on the shifter and see if it comes on.If this is the case you may need a new shifter with a switch assymbly.

 

Thanks for the replied guys. Found the problem after ripping the hub apart and the wiring. The bulb was blown out in the switch. Got a bulb and works great. Thanks again
