I am looking into buying a GPS for my quad, boat, and for screwing around. I was wondering what modles and brands my fellow ATVers used. Any info would be appriciated.

I have the Magellan 315 and I haven't gotten lost with it yet. There are alot of different brands out there to choose from that are all just as good and some better.

Since you're going to be using it on your boat, make sure that the GPS you choose has navigational aids in it also. Only a few dollars more for all the goodies.

Check out the web sites for all the brands and choose the one that best suits your needs.

Good luck...

I use a lowrance GlobalMap 100 with the software that you can get for it. I like it and it works good. I just need to find a way to take a trail that I plotted and bring it down to the map.

We use Magellan 315 & it works pretty good. Magellan makes a model 320 for marine applications. The price for the 315 & 320 are similiarly priced.

One feature we use is the tracking. It leaves a "bread crumb" trail on the GPS screen. This makes it easy to find your way back home.

The main ones I was considering were the Garmin Etrex, Emap, Etrex Summit, GPS 12, Magellan GPS Blazer 12, GPS 310, GPS 300, and Map 315.

If you want a mapping GPS you can count out the eTrek, eTrek Summet, GPS 12, Blazer, GPS 300, and the 310. The eMap is not waterproof. The 315 was one that I was considuriting but got the Lowrance GlobalMap 100+. There are may out there to choose from here is a neat site to check out. http://joe.mehaffey.com/ Good Luck
