Default 21x7x10 Front Tires

I'm about ready to swap my stock rear tires with 22's but plan to keep the stock 21's in the front until I can find a deal on some nice ITP's. What are the down sides to running stock size in the front but larger 22's in the rear? Anything at all?

Also, the front tires that I'm looking at are 23x7x10. Any problem moving up to a 23 on a stock rim? Is it even possible?

As you can tell, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to tire sizing on ATV's.

I live in New Mexico and ride in different terrain such as hard packed trails and some sand in river beds ans washes but I have already decided which tires I want. My question is about size. Will a 23X7X10 tire fit a stock DS rim? I don't know anything about ATV tire sizing.

I'm hoping to run this size on a stock rim.

yes the 23x7x10 will fit the stock rim - the 7 is tire width and the 10 is rim diameter.
the stock front rim is a 5x10, which is made for using 7 or 8 inch wide tires.

running a larger tire in the rear than in the front will cause a slight decrease in caster angle which makes handling/steering just a tiny bit more sensetive. when you do get a chance to move up to the 23 inch fronts it will handle better, as well as go over ruts easier as mentioned.

Look in my pics and you will see the 23" fronts and 22" rears. The ground clearance is amazing over rocks. I dont cringe as much as I used to in fear of hitting rocks. The smaller fronts ....like hightower said.... make for a squirly ride and much worse going downhill in the sand. If you have no choice for now...just throttle back out of the squirly feeling or stiffen the front shock springs a little bit.

Do the 23" up front rub at all on anything and the 22" with the stock heel guards rub at all.I like to do mx alittle and wanted to know if i hit a nice table top that if i would bottom out.And since it will make you higher up does it make it mor tippy in the corners.

I havent rubbed anywhere, but I dont do table tops either. I ride with these tires in the desert pretty fast and hard. You will feel higher and it may at first feel tippy on soild ground in a corner but that feeling goes away after you get used to the feel of the height and grip. If your MX riding, I wouldn't get a tall tire, thats just asking for it in the corners. It all comes down to where you do the most of your riding.
