Raptor 660 problems when starting.
#1
My 2003 660 raptor is making a weird noise when i try and start it, sometimes it won't even start. Also when i ride it across the field, it seems that the back end is more the the left and the front is more to the right. Its all stock and im also looking into making it a very fast machine. Does anyone know where i should start? Im not that smart at all when it comes to working on a fourwheeler or even knowing whats wrong with it now so any help will greatly be appreciated. Thanks

well we will need to know more info beacuse just saying it makes a noise could be 1000 things, and im not shure what your trying to say about the back end but your axle may be off angle and u can fix that by turning the lock nut so that they have the same amount of threds on each side (this is where u would go to fix your chain slack)

I'm not sure about what noise you are hearing. On my 2002 raptor the one way bearing was bad and had to get rebuilt, i was hearing clunking and also having a rough start. What really made me sure it was the one way bearing was the freewheeling. You said you wanted to do some engine mods and I'm not sure what you are going to do but i know that some 686 kits with high compression pistons will tear up that starter mechanism so be aware of that if it is your problem and you are going to fix it.
