Mojave Top End trouble
#1
Alright heres the deal I got this 99 Mojave a while back the guy i got it from said that it had to be pulled everytime to start it and that the person before him had work done to the motor not long before he boght it. Well we tore it apart and decided to rering it while we was there, we believe the valves were to tight so it wouldn't start. Anyways on the cams it has 197 wrote in a white marker as well as on the head(dunno what this is) there not stock cams. And it's .50 over. But we got it back togather and 3 kicks and it was running it worked great for like a month then it didn't want to start unless pulled. So last week I tore it down and the valves were to tight again, reset them and in 3 kicks it was running. rode it a couple days and now it won't start again unless pulled. One more thing my cousin has a mojave there both geared the same and mine starts breaking up and he's got a lot of gear left. I always though it was the rev limiter but could it be mabye with the cam work that it needs stiffer valve springs and thats causing the breaking up. it works exellent even if it needs pull started so can anyone give me some help here. Sorry about the book

I would say that it does need hd valve springs to go along with the aftermarket cams....mostlikely you have either four stroke tech, cycle works racing or webb cams.......go to cycleworksracing.net and give them a call or send a email. The owner, greg is a genious with these things and more then likely you already have some cwr cams in your mojave
