I myself am partial to Dirt Wheels. The thing's always about 3/4 of an inch thick, and pretty family oriented.

Quad Magazine for me
This is my first atv magazine so I know of nothing else first hand The 3 issues I have gotten so far had a good mix between sport and utility quads so it has been a good read.

DW's content is often rubbish, but it's usually good for a lot of content and pretty pictures.

Quad has some great content, but it can be hard to find on the newsstand.

I just picked up the Jan issue of 4wheel atv action and it's still worthless.

ATV Rider is fairly decent all around, but short.

I like DW the best, but I really wish they would tighten up on their editing and proofreading. Generally, their shoot-outs are accurate, although predictable. They have a tendency to favor the latest and greatest ATV to hit the market but that's a result of there only being a limited number of new products from month to month. I think in the past five years there have been 4 or 5 "first tests" of the Suzuki Eiger - I bet even DW gets frustrated with having to do that.

DW and 4WA are basically the same mag - they use many of the same writers and test riders. My biggest gripe with both of them is that you can count on four or five glaring mistakes in each issue - usually quoting one set of 'facts' in the article with different numbers under the pics or in a sidebar. I can usually tell which is the correct take, but I find it annoying in that it would be so easy for them to proofread prior to printing.

I just picked up my first issue of Dirt Wheels the other day at a store ( This being my first ATV magazine ) and I think it's pretty good, although it doesn't have any utility quads in it..Just a Rhino or 2, and some smaller utilities, but i didn't see anything like 600cc + =[

I also wanted to try QUAD but it wasn't for sale where I bought my magazine.

I think informative is what you're shooting for there.
