Default Help with my new Raptor???

Hi,I just bought a new 2003 Raptor and it has a Yoshimira pipe and a billet air cleaner installed.I ran it tonight and the pipe was red hot after about ten minutes of riding.I shut it down and checked the plug and it was white.I know that cant be a good thing.Does anyone know what jet size I should go to and how I should go about doing it?I would really appreceate it.Also what kind of damage has someone I bought it from done if they ran it like this?I know I was smart enough to shut it right down.It is scary sick fast like this.I have a 2006 KFX stock and this thing would smoke it hands down.Let me know what you think would be a good jet size to go to.Thanks in advance,
John

before i did engine mods.....i believe i ran a 155 main jet in one carb and a 150 in the other......sorry i dont remember which side is suppose have the bigger of the two.....i havent had to mess with my jetting for awhile.....this should give you a place to start......since mine had a yoshi exhuast with a kn filter and the lid off the airbox.....

Default Help with my new Raptor???

i forgot to tell you that if i beat on it good the pipe would still be glowing right off the engine......some of this is because the aftermarket pipes are single wall tubing.....where as the stock pipes are double walled tubing which isolates some of the heat.....i also have always ran atleast 110 octane race gas in mine......

Default Help with my new Raptor???

I thanks for your reply.I think I am going to use a dial a jet kit on it.I have been looking at them for it and it says I dont need to remove the carbs or drop the jets.Have you ever used them?If not when I change jets to the 150 and 155 do I drop the needle down also?Do you know what hole to use?I am just trying to get a good starting point and hoped to find someone that was running a yoshi pipe and K&N filter. It would be a good place to start is to copy thiers and go from there. Thanks for your help,

Is it a full Yoshi or just a slip on? Is it a K&N filter or foam?
