Wheel Spacers?
#3
I ran 1-1/2" per side in back for years with no problem. But then I never felt comfortable jumping the raptor over 4 feet. Too harsh of a landing. Made a huge difference in cornering stability.
I tried them on the front, but every little bump jerked the bars out of my hands even with a steering stabilizer.

id spend the money for a axle. spacers put extra stress on the studs and id be afraid to jump it or go fast threw woops, or any ruff spots. personaly i would never run them but some people do and swear there fine.

I personally don't see the point in buying wheel spacers. What's the point in spending 80 bucks to make your rear end 2 inches wider? It can't make that much of a difference.

They make an enormous difference. Usually, you get 3" or 5" wider. If you want to jump, DONT USE THEM! I never had a problem trail riding and whoops on the track, but I never jumped more than 4 feet or so on the raptor.
As I side note, I ran the 3" set on the back of my yfz450 for about 6 hours of practice at the mx track. I jumped 6-8 feet dozens of times and never had a problem. But then if any breakage had happened, it would have been a great excuse to get a new axle and hubs.
Does anyone know FIRST HAND of anyone having damage from using spacers? I hear of bent axles all the time, but never due to spacers.

I'm also thinking of getting some wheel spacers for my 400ex. A good site is www.magicracing.com. They range from $80-$100. I think I am going to go w/ the 2" Billet's. I have a lot of friends who have spacers on sport and utility quads and have never had a problem. It's worth a try....if not, I will just take them off....
