I need some help. I have a toro snowblower that I am thinking of selling. I want to buy a Warn A2500 winch and a Warn 48" plow to mount on a 2000 Sp500. I have never plowed before. Is it going to be a pain to plow the snow? ie backing up and turning?

Also I am not sure on how much I will use the winch. I have seen the electric lifts for plows, but I wonder if I might be better off with a winch.

Or should I forget about it all and keep the snowblower? I would need to sell the snowblower to afford the plow.

I don't know how much snow you get over there, but for me I can't use a plow. We get too much snow. The problem is that the snow banks get too high, and the plow can't push the snow over the top, while a snowblower can throw it over. Plows are more fun to use though. It gives you an excuse to go riding.

It depends on the amount of snow you are trying to push. Up to 18 inches, the plow is definetly more fun. After that, it gets much harder to push and pile the snow. The snowblower is like work, the plow on the atv is like fun. I use a Warn winch to lift the plow. I have heard good things about the manual lifts though.

I got to use my new plow last night. Of course, I use my Kodiak to plow. I got the manual lift for it. I was amazed at how easily it moved the snow. I was also quite impressed with the lift. It gives you so much leverage, it's like lifting a cup of coffee. I did ten driveways in less than an hour. No wear and tear on the arm from the lift.

Benelli,
I have a Cycle County plow. It seems very stout. The directions I recieved with it were BS. The easiest thing to do was lay out the pieces, and look at the pictures. It was pretty self explanatory on how to assemble it. I put it on a Kodiak, so I'm sure the mounting bracket would be different. It has three settings, straight, 45 degree lft, and 45 degree right. It also has springs on, in case you run over an imperfection, it snaps up, then snaps right back.

I also have a Cycle Country plow and it works great. I was trying to buy the Moose brand, but I couldn't get the mounting bracket since it was on back order. I would reccomend getting the 60" plow for sure since it leaves a smaller footprint when angled. The SP500 pushes it fine. I thought I would need chains since my driveway is 750 feet long with a very steep section. The Sp500 and the CC plow has performed great without the chains. I also got the manual lift and it works great as well. I wanted the easy lift that Moose sold, but after using the manual, I wouldn't change. Cost was not an issue on the lift system for me, I think it is easier to use the manual lever. The plow comes off very easily as well, 2 hitch pins and the front cable disconnect...takes about 5 minutes or less.

Thanks for the input. I have a Cycle Country dealer in SLC. My neighbor has a Cycle Country also that he really like. So, it looks like I am getting a plow!
