when on the road if you see the cars with teh blue to realy right white lights then those are more than likely the HID lights.

I suggest you add a pod light. Go to Wal Mart and pick one up for $20. Takes about an hour to wire in yourself. It worked like a charm for me, espicially when plowing. I also hooked up a rear flood light. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

The onlu caution I will mention about adding addition off road lights for working/riding at night is that if the light is really bright you can actually make it harder to see.

My experience has been if the lights are really bright, when you get close to an object (tree, snow pile) athe bright light can reflect back at you and cause you to have trouble seeing. I am not sure how bright to too bright but, I have 2-55watt lights attached to the front rack on a light bar (not light beer) and a 55watt (I think) bulb mounted to the front of the instrument pod that turns with the nhandlebars. If I drive or plow with all these lights on and my main head lights on high-beam there are times I cannot see as there is too much light being reflected back at me and I am blinded.

So I usually plow with my head lights off and my off-road lights and pod light on. This works very well especially since the regular lights are in behind the plow.

You also need to be mindful of the poor bastards coming at you on ATV trails when riding at night.

Catterman was right onthe money about these type of lights being easy to wire in though.

I have the dual 55w torch lights allready and the seem to do fine but was looking for a bit more. I think you hit the nail on the head about the extreme bright lights. I do not want to blind the people I am riding with or others coming from the other direction. Thank you for the eye opener. I appreciate the input.

 

I'll be putting four of these(2 spots and 2 floods) on my Ranger.
