Default in between gears??

Fairly new to quadding..have a 02 honda foreman S ...noticed today a kind of hangup between gears 2 and 3 ..just a clicking metal sound ..ran fine afterword ..do they do this once in a while??any harm or mataince issues comming? thanx in advance...[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

I would start by doing a clutch adjustment. If it is an 02 and it hasn't ever been done, it is way overdue anyhow! Procedure is in the owner's manual.

thanx for the reply..it only has 85 hrs- 520 miles ..is it still time to do it?

i believed it is an automatic clutch,just have to foot shift thru gears..it was a clicking metal to metal noise no power to wheels and then i hit the shifter up and it stayed in gear..just a fluke?? is adjusting a big deal??

Even though it is an "autoclutch", the clutch is actually manual. It just engages/disengages when you push up or down on the shift lever, vs when you pull in/let out a hand clutch. This is a great, time proven system, that usually doesn't give any problems.......

if you adjust the clutch it has more less and a play setting i have had the same problem just work with the adjustmen and now its great
