my brothers raptor runs fine but just dies when he shifts into reverse. i have heard this problem is caused by a wire coming loose. which one? just want some input so i can fix it quickly in the morning before the big ice fishing derby! thanks!

 

Mine use to do the same thing about a year ago until i took it to the shop. Im not sure what they did to it but you should try and call a yamaha shop and they more then likly will know.

 

did it cost you? id rather fix it for free, besides he can still ride, just no reverse and i dont think he will need it tomorrow.

 

Disconnect the e-brake, that may be the prob.

 

ebrake gone, could you tell me how this relates to the ebrake? i know it causes tons of problems but reverse too?!?

 

cut the ebrake sensor plug and spliced the wires together. reverse works 100%.
