Default hawkeye trade or keep

I have a 2006 polairs hawkeye and thinking about trading it for a 5oo efi .
this is because of the trouble ive heard of in the fourm's about the rear frame cracking.
althouth ive inspected the rear and foundwhat seems like a rusty line around a couple weld's
so im just wondering what to do next (fight with polairs or try to trade it in )??

just a little info about the the bike; 20 hour's on it. front bush guard , skid plate , 2000 pound winch

I say get when the getting is good. The thing is that you paid x amount for this brand new hawkeye and if you trade up you will be out soo much money that it is not funny. Why not just weld a support bar to the part that is said to crack. Just my 2 cents.

really depends on if you like the hawkeye or want to upgrade power and ride? im betting you wont get anywhere w/ polaris on the welding issues.

If you have a good dealer, he might cover it even after warranty. You just got to ask. There are some that broke and some that haven't. I do a lot of tight trail riding thru the woods and deep creeks. I love my Hawkeye for that. If you like it and are handy with a welder or has a buddy that is, just keep it.

Search the other posts about replacing the rear sub-frame. The original has broken on many Hawkeyes, and the Consumer Safety Commission needs to know.
