Default New ATV for my son

I am looking to get my so a new atv, but i am in the same boat as a lot of people. I cant afford a name brand. I was wondering if there is one knock off that is better than otheres. I am looking to get at least a 110 for him. It will be his first quad and I like the idea of the kill switch and throttle control. Thanks for any help you could give.

I would get a used name brand, in preference to a new knock-off.

How big and how old is the kid????? How much experience????

He is a big 9 years old. He has ridden a ttr 50 on and off for about a year, never a quad. I had him sit on a few and it looks like he may need at least a 150. The falcon runs about 1800.00 new

I have an 8 year old on a 110cc knock off myself. You want to be careful in choosing a chinese atv. Try to buy from a dealer in your area and check out their parts and service department before you buy. A lot of problems with no name is that most of them have shady warranty programs and are unable to supply parts. I suggest going with a redcat, or Kazuma myself but thats just my thoughts. If ordering off the internet I hear a lot of good things about raceway atv. Well there is my 2 cents worth.

I agree with getting a used recon, it will last forever and your son probably wont outgrow it until he is 14 or 15.

Recon Ranger gives good advice. I would trust my 10 year old jap quad way more than a new Chinese quad. I have seen some real horror stories with Chinese quads. You will probably spend more time woring on the CHinese one than you will spend riding it.
