what color wire for winch installation

Default what color wire for winch installation

Could someone tell me which color ignition wire to use for installing a warn winch on a 06 Rubicon?

Thanks for the reply hondamechanic. thats what I did with my 03 rancher but was told if I plug something into the outlet with the winch tied into it, it may keep blowing the fuse. I don't use the plug for anything so I will use the black/white wire again.

thanks for the info. I will change out the fuse. I just joined this forum and happy I did. there is great info here. looking forward to chatting with questions and answers again.

I was told to use the pink wire and that is what I did and I dont ever blow a fuse or ever had to chnge one it works great.

i hope to god your not an actual mechanic in real life. telling people to simply change a fuse, without changing the wiring to go with it, is just stupid. you think maybe, just maybe there is a reason they use a 10 amp fuse. if knew anything about wiring, you would know changing the fuse is not necessary nor should be done, even if it doesn't blow. i have always wired to the accessory port. have NEVER needed to change a fuse to a higher rating. thats a good way to get an electrical fire going
