Default Sportsman Stalling in extreme cold. What should I do?

I have been plowing with my sportsman 500, but it has been so cold that it won't stay running. What needs to be done to the machine.

if its stalling when you let off the throttle to idle it then just turn up the idle a little. i use to on my 500 in the cold times and then turn it back downwhen it warms up.

It won't stay running even when it is warm. It runs better when I first get out of the heated garage, but as it gets colder it starts to stall.

im not sure where the crabs are on the spmans but if it is in under the seat pull the seat off and then look down at the carb adn the idle screw should be on the right side tho im not sure if it is set up the same at the tb it should be on the on the right side and screw it to the front of the wheeler and than when it warms up u screw it down just alittle bit but if it keeps stalling just leave it up when its cold like that

sorry buffs, i didnt even look until just now to see that you have a 06 sp. 500 efi. this means there is no idle ajustment for you to fool with. you have to take it to a dealer w/ a computer to change the idle. now that being said, you shouldnt have to change the idle w/ cold weather. now alot of 500 efi had idling issues where the dealer had to reflash the computer or maybe even replace something. this was a big issue and there is alot of post on this if you do a search.

there is a cold weather reflash for the 06 500 efi's. Take it back to the dealer and tell them what the wheeler is doing and that you want the latest fileset reflashed to the ecm. This should take care of your stalling prob. You guys are getting a crap pile of snow as I see on the news
