Default 2002 Scrambler 90 tips and tricks ?

Just picked up a 02' scrambler 90 for my daughter today . Does anyone have any tips or tricks to make it run better ? How about the auto choke, is there a manual choke that can be installed ?
Also , it needs a new battery . It calls for a YTX4-LBS, man these little buggers are expensive . Is there a non sealed version that is less expensive ? If so, would anyone be so kind as to give me the part # ?
How about an online service manual ? Is anyone hiding a pdf file on the net somewhere ?
Thanks so Much,
D.

Make it run better> Clean the carb, has very small jets in it. Choke> polaris makes a manual choke for it, costs bout 40 bucks. Battery> Any small battery doesn't last long and I know they are expensive but when you get the new one charge it every month. Also put some fuel stabil to every tank of gas this should help from carb getting gummed up. Technically gas goes bad after a period of 30 days.
