I just got my modded end cap from this site.And it has the stock arrester and its shaped oval cut out where the two dinky holes where.Now what are my options.I know i need at least a 3'inch exhuast tip.Should i get a oval exhuast tip or just gring down the face of the tip and weld over the excess exhaust tip.I guess im curious how all of you did your.I wanted to use high temp paint on it when im done with everything.Will high temp paint work?They use it on truck headers so....Just give me your opinions.Also ive saw AllRedBombers already and i like the look of his.

 

Also if i took the spark arester off will the packing blow out.I havent had time to really look.Thanks

Well anyone with pics of their modded end caps.Please.

 

Take the endcap off and cut off EVERYTHING on the back side as flush as possible...so theres only 2 holes. I would left the factory 2 exit tubes since it makes a very nice sound while keeping it mildly quiet. I had this setup for about a year and it performed good for a free mod. If you put a big 2.5 inch tip on that endcap its going to be VERY loud and i never noticed any power gains over the other way.

 

I bought it from someone on hear and he already cut the two holes out and cut the baffles and left the spark arrestor.Since its already done for me i though about welding a 3inch turndown tip on it.Kinda of like a hmf exhuast tip.And then paint it with hight temp paint.I like it loud!The people i ride with are extremely loud on there 450's.Do you know anyone else on hear that did what i want to do?

 

Get rid of that stupid spark arrestor it does nothing for power gains.....its got a huge flat solid piece of sheet metal that goes inside the baffle going down the pipe which makes all the exhaust gas go around it and then through the screen and then out the holes....GET RID OF IT. Yea go to a muff shop and find a nice small turn down tip...get somone to tig weld it on(looks nice) or just mig it.

 

Does this sound stupid?But will the exhuast packing come out then without the spark arrestor?And high temp paint work.I dont want to re chrome it like most.

 

No the packing will not come out and maybe that paint will work although i have had no such luck with it on anything.
