Default Gave it to the Can-Am rep today

Was at the local "Surf-n-Turf" show this morning. Went by the Can-Am booth and was talking with one of the sales guys. . . haven't seen him for a couple years. . . no reason to go into the shop. . . nothing new! He tried to tell me how cool the Renegade is. . . yeh, do you really think I want to trade my DS760 in for a heavier quad because it has a lot of power and I can't shift. Guy didn't get it. . . I told him about three-times I'm looking at something more nimble. He started talking about the 450 and how it was coming out soon and said the, "The Factory Guy is over there, he may know more." I said, "Let's talk to him!"

So, either he knew nothing or he was playing dumb. He didn't try to tell me the Renegade was the bike for me. . . smarter than the dealer sales guy.

I then told him how disappointed I was in BRP for not doing anything new. Told him at a minimum a 102mm bore and FI on the DS just to keep up with the competition. . . those should be easy to Bomb to do. I didn't want to be too hard on the guy but, wanted to let him know how the loyal BRP guys were feeling about the lack of BRP coing out with anything new in the sport market.

Am I holding my breath. . . don't count on it.

Maybe if these guys hear it from enough of us they will do SOMETHING! I mean common! ANYTHING!!! At least put a 102mm bore on the DS. How tough is it to do SOMETHING?

sadly, I'm with ya, BRP has nothing I'm interested in right now. A lighter more powerful DS650 style quad with a fresh look (ie. cool looking plastic) bigger motor, more torque more nimble handling but still made for the big boys is what would get me back into the showroom. Until then I'll just pick up used 650's and have my way with em!

I totally agree with all of you, BRP started a good thing with the DS, but they dropped the ball.... badly. BRP needs to get off their ***** and create something that will put them back on the map. NO MORE 4WD's, it's good for the people that have em but they gotta realize that not all of us want or need them.

I agree with you guys as well, wouldn't it be nice if BRP could get off there lazy behinds and make something new that i can shift with 2WD.

It would also be nice to see something in a factory race team with all those 450 out there !!!

I would like to see the 800 efi motor that is in the Outlanders, and Renegade be fit to a manual transmission and put in the DS frame. I dont know, mabe its not even possible but I think that would be a cool machine.

That would be a monster! Especially if they could keep the weight down.

Chain drive, and solid rear axle, and I'm in.
