1991 Honda Fourtrax TRX250X
#1
I have recently bought a '91 250x and I have found that it is extremely slow!! What can I do to beef it up a little? Are there any good sites that have aftermarket parts for a 250x? Any recommendations? Thank you in advance.

I'm rebuilding a 250x right now from the frame up.I owned one several years ago.Blasters kept wooping up on me so I got a high compression piston, cobra pipe, uni air filter and rejetted.I could beat the blasters then but I tried to beat a 300ex and he beat me.I always wanted to try a different cam but I sold it before I did.You might could find someone to port it but I dont know who.

depending on the amount of money you want to spend.. powroll.com has some decent modifications that you can go with.. i just got my crank back from them lastnight .. sent it out to get stroked 12.7mm .. but that alone was 500 bucks with new main bearing and heavy duty rod..

well you can make a reliable decently quick 250x for pretty cheap.. 300's are about the same as the 250x's .. i guess it comes down to the question of .. " do you really want something that old? " haha because you can get 400's pretty damn cheap these days.

the whole reason why i bought it was to have a good trail quad. i have heard that these are good trail quads so i bought one...any comments on what would be better on trails??

It is definitely a good trail quad.. the only downfall with the 400's.. they didn't come out with reverse until 05.. so unless you'd like to spend a decent amount on a 400 with reverse.. i'd stick with the 250.. i mean, i'm a little man and tend to like reverse for when i get stuck in the trails.. it comes in handy quite often.. 250 is small enough yet big that it has amazing control in the trails.
