We just bought a Bayou 300 off of my cousin. He was unsure of the year, thinking it was an '86, but I've already ruled that out. I tried to find the serial number, but only found a model number. It's a "300B", the manual lists the model numbers starting with "300-B1". Is that B1 the same as mine? I can't seem to find the serial number also, could someone point me in the right direction?

The 300B series was made from 1988 to 2004. If you think yours is a B1, it is 1988 model.
The VIN can be found on the tube FRAME near the LEFT front A-Arm suspension area (not on the A-Arm) on most Kawi models. If it's not there, then it should be LEFF side tube FRAM near where your left foot should be resting. Sometimes dirt/mud can make it difficult to read, so wash the quad and look carefully.

 

Yeah, I was kind of thinking that it was an '88, but I wasn't postive.
And I'll check those places today for the vin number.
