Default shifter breaking off, and winch cable breaking while plowing

hey everyone hope your doing fine. i own an outlander 400 max xt, and i think its great.ive had a few problems, when my dad was plowing today, he went to shift it into low range, and the shifter snapped off at the weld!! we're taking it to the dealers tomorrow hopefully to get it repaired.also, the winch cable has snapped 6 times while we were plowing (over a period of 2 months). has anyone else had these problems before?it is a moose plow and a warn winch if it helps

well I know nothing about the outlander, but I've read alot about people having their winch cable break while snow plowing. Some have modified the winch for snow plowing using something like a tow strap to hoist the plow. I've only plowed w/ my winch a few times and I know you shouldnt raise it up all the way. I think if you lift it to high, or keep on the button when it is at its max it is not good for the cable.
good luck.

I've had different results with different quads. I have a 60" cycle country plow and on the brute force it will break a few times in a winter because the way the cable rubs the blade angle selector, however on the eiger with the same amount of use still had the original cable factory crimp.

do you think that changing to a synthetic cable would help?
