My brother has an 05 KQ and the fenders were pretty scratched up so he decided to buy some of the bed liner stuff and tape em off and we sanded em down and painted them. Well it didn't stick, what is out there that u can get to paint on the plastic and it actually stick???

I know that I think it is Krylon has some paint that is for plastic it is suppose to stick and soak in I think. Not quite sure how it works but you should be able to find it at any hardware store and read what it says about it.

Good luck most paint will still scratch pretty good. But maybe that stuff is different.

Well we're thinking we're gonna use the plastic paint that ur talking bout, then spray the scratch resistant bed liner stuff over it and hopefully it'll bite onto it and won't flake off again. The thing is, some parts of the stuff stuck really well to the plastic, other parts flaked off. But we'll see, thanx a lot!

It really seems like it would sag the plastic down. IMO. It is so heavy. I wouldn't do it. But of course it isn't my bike so to each there own. You may want to buff out the scratchs first and give the paint something to stick to though, Just an idea.

Like I said before, Good luck.

We did sand the plastic down the best we could. But we did it and so far so good, looks good and seems to have stuck well this time. It's the spray stuff in a can so it's actually not that heavy and u can actually put it on pretty light if u spray the plastic with black first, so u won't see any of the original color through it. But like i said, so far so good!

We used Krylon Fusion paint, have to say it has held up well and doesn't weigh the plastics down. Only area that have chipped is where the boots cause normal wear. On our quad we just hit it again with some more paint.

I painted a plastic body kit for my truck one time. After I sanded it I used to special plastic cleaner that you get from the auto paint store. Plastic can hold in dirt and grease and regular alcohol and tack wipes won't take it off. I also had to put in some additive to the paint (something so it can flex) but I can't remember the name of it. Added it to the base not the clear.
