Looking to change the oil/filter in my '07 Hawkeye soon. I've read the reasons Polaris give to use THEIR oil. They are really proud of it too!

What are you all using in your Polaris 4 stroke engines? I want to use synthetic, Mobile 1, etc...

Appreciate any input.

Just be sure you use 0w-40 full synthetic. I use Amsoil, they make a 0w-40 just for ATVs.

I've seen the Amsoil 0w-40 oil. Polaris calls for 0w-50 though.

Your call, I have an 02 and an 04, both of them call for 0w-40. All of the Polaris oil I have seen is 0w-40 are they making a 0w-50 now?

***EDIT***
I stand corrected, I just looked on the Polaris site and the Hawkeye looks like it is the one that calls for 0W-50. Eveything else is 0W-40.

Yep, the owners manual says 0w-50, and the bottle I picked up at the dealer was 0w-50.

I have no problem with using Amsoil, I used their 20w-50 oil in my Kawasaki GPz-550. I just don't want any warranty issues if I have a problem down the road.

I wonder why they would switch from 0W-40 to 0W-50? Think it has anything to do with Amsoil and Mobil making a 0W-40?

I found Castrol 5W-50 synthetic motor oil at WalMart. I figured that was good enough.

No more than you change fluids in a 4wheeler you are better off spending the extra for the Polaris fluids.
