It has a reputation for being a solid machine and the ultimate work quad. Should make a descent trail quad as well.
Seeing that I insist on having a manual transmission, if I needed something bigger than my Ranchers for plowing or some kind of work, it would be my only choice.

For plowing, you are going to have to frequently go from 1st to reverse and back again, and the procedure will get tiresome after a while. But even on an automatic, you would have to stop and put it in reverse so.............

just bought mine a few weeks ago. i woudl think it would do awsome plowing, when i was up in indiana i used my sportsman 500 for plowing, they are both big atvs and will do good, i always had problems with the shifter linkage on my sportsman, on this foreman i can see how it woudl be tiresome doing the reverse prosedure but, a much better set up than my polaris, and it doens thave a belt that will burn up like my polaris. auto-cluth manual shif is by far the best tranny for atvs. that my .02 and im positive others will think diffrent. u'll love the quad. keep us posted

oh, i forgot to tell ya, i could be a little more impressed with the tires that come with this quad, i'm down here in fl now so i have no idea how they do in the snow, i jus tknow they dont do any thing in mud, and not impressed with em in the sand. they say that the itp 589's are awsome in the snow and mudd. i have always used stockers on my polaris and they wernt to bad, stocks should get the job done on the foreman, but there are deffently better out there.

2500 is plenty enough. on my sportsman ive got a waren 1.5, it is plenty, not as fast, but plenty and the sp is alot heaver. if the 2500 isnt strong enough to pull u out of a sticky mud pit, run a block and tackle, basily whinch rope ran to a pully (hooked to tree) then back to it self, it doubles the whintch capeablility (5000lbs) but slows down the speed.

Though mine isn't the electric shift version, I've been pretty happy with my Foreman. I also have a Warn 2.5 which has been great. If you are going to dunk it in mud frequently, though, the Warn 3.0 would probably be a better choice because it is better sealed.
Tire wise, I'd agree that they are just OK. For me, anyhow, I'll wait to upgrade until the stockers are bald.
For plowing, to get reverse you have to downshift to neutral, push in the red button on top of the left hand brake, and pull the brake lever, then downshift again for reverse. To get to forward, you hit upshift once into neutral, and again into 1st. If I were going to be plowing in tight situations that would require lots of forward/reverse shifting, the Rubicon might be handier (hydrostatic, non-belt driven auto).
If taken care of at all, the Foreman should be a rock solid reliable machine. How used is this Foreman (hours/miles)?
