Default 750 brute top speed restriction

Does the cdi on the 06 750 Brute restrict the top end speed. If so what cdi boxes will release the full top end power and what will the new top speed be(estimate). Mine taps out at 110kph no matter how steep the hill is.

the stock cdi limits the rpms and timing. so a aftermarket cdi will raise the redline or top rpms and advance the timing, making more power throughout the powerband(bottom, mid, and top). also easier starting, cooler running, removes limp mode/belt light(so stay up on maintenance), and it overrides the reverse limiter. there are only 2 on the market. the Dyna cdi, nonprogrammable, 1 map. best bang for the buck. about $190. there is also the VDI copperhead, programmable. you can make or download custom maps. this is the best for atv's that have internal engine mods where it runs on higher octane fuel. about $400. both are plug & play.

oh, there is is a Moose cdi out there now as well. its a Dyna cdi with a Moose sticker on it. these are different than the modules, Moose, Highlifter, DG5. these only undo the bottom end restriction and nothing else.

Yea that's a real smart move .... take the rev limiter off !!!! Then you can sell blown parts on Ebay like alot of others do . If that 650 does'nt have enough power then don't waste money on conversions ... Buy a Bombardier ... or whatever they're called now . They're screamers right off the showroom floor ! Test rode them on their test track ... WOW ! Gonna be my next one ... but my 650 prairie just won't die and I am thinking the Kaw will outlive me !

you are not gonna blow the motor. it revs much more freely and runs smoother with advanced timing. i cant see you having a greater chance at blowing the motor than when its stock.

It's just as Grizzkiller said.

Here's an example of the actual performance increase.

I installed a Dynatek CDI on an 07 Bruteforce 750 yesterday. It runs harder from a dead stop to top speed. I ran it before the install and hit 69 mph, after the Dynatek was installed it hit 72 mph. It also left 5' long black marks on the pavement in front of my house by just stabbing the throttle off idle. It is worth the $ in my opinion.

the CDI does not REMOVE the rev limiter it only raises it to a higher but still safe point.

The Dynatek CDI is the best thing ive done to my 650V2. You know its a power boost when you can flip 800lbs of machine right over itself from a dead stop!

I had my 2005 kawie bf750i doing 85mph the other day. Oh, wait, that was on the trailer behind my truck. LOL Mine tops at 69mph by gps and that was before I added the ignition module and jet kit. I will probably top out around 72 now, but I really don't care b/c I never ride that fast. I put the ignition module and jet kit on to help the back firing and b/c I pull deer stands and 16ft trailers with hay around. If I personally want to run 70mph often, I would get a sport quad.
