if its a hydro tranny you cant do what im about to say,
if its just the old style belt drive with a geared tranny, change the pullys on the drive belt. put the large one on the motor and a small one on the gear box.
next you have to make your way of reving it up cause it limited to 3700rpm and you wont go to fast with that.
um
and bigger tires in the back for even more gearing!
is it the 18HP kawasaki 585 cc vtwin?

if you could find a geared tranny that would run of the belt drive it would be awsome.
the problem with a lawnmower motor is the output shaft is on the bottom and not the side, so it kinda sucks for gocarts!
