Big Gun vs RWR cdi
#1
Has anyone tryed both of these CDI's to get a good comparison? I have a RWR cdi for my Baja and i recently got a 2003 DS Viper and it has the BG cdi and the motor pulls harder than i expected, has an HMF but i've run that pipe before so i know what to expect. What is the BG rev limit set at?

I wouldnt want a ron woods for the fact that there is no limiter. But i dont really know if i need a different rev box seeing as i only have a endcap/K&N.Do you guys think i need one or not.I thought that i only would make good power until like 6800 rpm.True or not true?

Well that depends on how much work ur doin to ur motor, a stock motor i wouldnt see goin over 8000 rpms, i think the redline for a stock DS is 8500, but u wont see that without a CDI box, they are basically good for an advanced timing curve, but the stock rev limit can be a pain.

I had a procom and had no problem, but the threads said they were junk, so I replaced it with a Vortex, found out they are super sesitive to grounding problems, the vortex was better than the Procom, why do I write this , the Big Gun is made by Procom with different specs, I have heard no problem with the Big Gun with rev limit about 8500, cost wise you can get them for 140 bucks, the RWR running 300 to 350 is a factory Rotrax Racing box is what I have been told, with no rev limiter its up to the rider to know there quads limit are. The vortex at 400 has 10 setings for you to select and can be reprogramed for special needs. I think they all work each one fits a need, I wish Dynatek would make one for the DS, I stopped hearing about the MSD ones
