Default 06 Honda Foreman Questions?

Let me ask you a question because i dont know much about all of the snorkle stuff. I know it hooks to the breather on the air box and i am not sure but people dont normally put it off the exhaust do they. For some reason i wanna think i had heard of someone doing that? im not sure. I just bought the bike i am really not happy about putting a hole in the plastic just yet but i dont guess there is another way is it?

yeah a 1 1/2 in pipe goes directly into your air box, sealed by some grease and hose clamp. most people come out of there frount fender and mount it to there rack. i have seen one quad thow that just poped it out his side access panel and used shop vac hose on the out side of his quad and mounted it on his rack. it gets the job done, doesnt look verry profesional.
as far as exhaust. all it does is if your quad dies while in teh water or woudnt iddle while submergerd(simple adj of idle screw will fix it), the water can fill your exsaust and could be doing 2 things, puts to much back pressure to get it started. or fills up your eng with water. as long as u keep it running u woudlnt have that problem. i personaly have not finished puting a snorkel on my foremna yet but am in the prosses. i do not plan on putting an exhaust snorkel on. if you dont plan on doing a snorkel u realy want to look into rerouting and extending your breather lines. 2 for the carb, one for each diff, one for the rear brake, and 1 or 2 for the fan. i migh tbe forgetion one, i'm sure some one can clear it up for you. also your crank case breather tube right under your air filter, u want to rerout it to above your filter, it is so easy for water to get into that and its just a strait shot to your crank case. 1500 bucks and tons of headakes u'll wish u did it, that is one of my first mods, along with cliping the carb spring. (highly recomend that)!!!!! well hope this helps, i am to new to the whole mudding thing, i have grown up on sport quads and got board with them so i'm switchen to a mudd machine keep us posted

i think i get what your saying.... yes it is next to must on putting the line extentions on. it woudtnl hurt anyt hing and will save u so much money and time in the long run. they are the first things i am doing to my quad, along with di-electric grease on all electrical fittings. another must, so water and mud doenst' get to them and cause them to corrode. so thows 2 things are a priority for me because i'm going to be playing in water and mudd, deep stuff that is. de-electric is good to do with any vehcile. keep us posted

not a problem. i am stuck at home for now, about 1.5hrs ago i got all 4 wisdome teeth taken out, so i'll be down for a while haha.

1. 1/2 in line under your air filter. it has a pice f foam in it, u want to cut that get a 1/2in hose connection and some hose extend it up to the top of your air box right were the other hose is comeing in wish a foam pice on it, if you put foam on this new extended one all the betere, i havn't yet but yeah.

hint. found it to be easer to start all over with new lines when extending them.

2. there is one line runnign off of your rear final gear box or diff. i think it is 3/16in
3. there is one line running off of your rear drum brake. i think its 3/16in
4. there are 2 running off of each side of your carb. pull off your seat, there is a rubber flap held down by 2 plasic snap holders, u'll see the top of the carb. ther are 2 tubes that are on the front of the carb coming up and then looped down on oppise side of the carb. i think its 3/16in
5. there is one line running off of your cooling fan, i think its 3/8in
6. there is one running off of your front diff, i think its 3/16in

take all these lines and rout them up into your gage pod, what i am doing, i have also heard of people taking them up there snokle, but it kinda looks taky and i am going to have 2 diffrent size snorkels so it woudltn work.

there is a black line coming off of yoru carb running down and coming out right behind the right foot peg/floor board. it has a little plasic piece right above it, which is a check valve but they are known to fail, and then let water into the carb. there are several ways about fixing this problem. some bend the line in half and then zip tie it, some put a screw in it, and some put a golf tee in it. i am putting a golf tee in mine, it makes it easy to remove if i need to. you have to be carefull becasue having that line pluged will cause your carb to flood. during riding this usually woudnt happen, but trailering or climing steep hills u might encounter some problems with it bogging down or cutting out. to advoide one of these problems is to shut off yoru fuel supply when ever your transporting or storing the quad.

well hope this helps, keep me updated and ask away, if i dont know it i can find out for ya
