What is a reasonable out-the-door price on a 2001 banshee? Are there any factory accessories for the banshee? What are some of the first things I should modify/disconnect/upgrade, etc?

Every state is different. In AZ, $5400 OTD is the best I've heard of.

Scooby,
I got my 2001 Banshee from Outdoor Wise in Decatur, prolly about a 1 1/2 drive from DFW. They IMHO are the best dealers around but you my have your own favorites.
I traded my 99 Blaster in for my shee and it was 5800 out the door (thats taking in concideration of frate and setup and farm tax/what they might charge you).

The very first thing I did was get rid of those stock tires! very tippy, but good for riding on 2 side wheels, lol, and get rid of the stock pipes as well.

Good luck!

Scooby,
PIPES, PIPES, PIPES! This will make your Banshee a whole new beast. DO IT! I would also get a Pro Design Pro Flow which eliminates the stock air filter setup and gives more power to boot( seen a dyno chart that shows a 4.7 hp increase with the pro fow and K&N over stock) Tires for sure, the stockers will NOT hook up. DO this at a minimum and you will be VERY happy with your Bad Boy Banshee.. The last of the High Perf 2 strokes...

First thing to do is pipe it and go with the pro flo so it will run with a stock Raptor . Just kidding Scooby...You won't go wrong with the Banshee. You will thank yourself later. Cost runs right around retail around here with no set-up fees.

Scooby...I think we have met up a time or two down at muenster...what is the reason for getting rid of the DS? Alot of places around here are selling the banshee from $5,900-$6,500...I have a 99 that I'd like to get rid of due to the lack of time I do not have to ride it...I want to buy a 250r. Let me know if your interested in buying...check out my webpage. E-mail me for sprecifics and price.

99 Banshee FMF Fatty pipes, Power Core 2 silencers, K&N Filter with precharger, yellow maier front racing fenders, blue shockcovers.

If you are going to put it on a track, you will need to address the suspension. Fortunately, you can have the rear shock rebuilt to tcs no preload standards.
