Lt 50 clutch kit out there?
#1
He had his first race today, after all his mods from CTracing and a port job. the Lt50 performed pretty well as long as he stay in the rpm's. But as soon as he would let off it was very sluggish till rpm's got high, the it ripped. Im going try and change the sprockets but a clutch that engaged a little later would be nice. So anyone ever seen a clutch kit for a lt 50?

Well if this a CVT there are a couple of things to try. First lightening the front clutch rollers or eliminating 2 if it's a 6 roller clutch like the lt80, would let it rev higher before take off and stay in the best rpm range for the motor. Second would be to lighten the rear clutch shoes or possible a different rear spring. Just some suggestions, Ill try and find some links to the clutch diagram. Also you may want to read thru some of the old threads on here alot of very useful info. Hope this helps

CT was working on clutch upgrades, but after not getting the desired results I believe they abandoned the project (I could be wrong).
Now that the new 50s are upgraded I wouldn't expect to see any more intensive research for the LT/KFX50.
We had one with the CT Racing kit....and PR Racing Port and Head Work and it did really well "for what it was"
It couldn't be run in any stk class due to the mods.....Track rules play a significant role in what quad to choose due to their mod and age restrictions
The centrifigal clutch is the weakness....a CVT tranny would have made that little one a contender for a "mini" 50.
I wish I would have heeded all the warnings I rec'd and bought my DRX50 with the money I spent on the KFX50.
All the engine mods and there is still no suspension to speak of....
Check out the DRX2 lineup http://www.drrinc.com DRX50 is 4 time ATVA stk 4-6 National Champion
Their 50cc quad is a monster!! 41" wide and more performance stock than a highly modded LT50. This quad moves and handles great!!

Im tying to get the clutch off but cant get it. Is there a lock or anything to keep the crank from turning? And is the nut a left hand thread? cause i put a ratched on the crank on other side and it just loosens that.
