Hi i was wondering wether its worth getting a brand new 450r for like $3,500 more than a used 04, 05 or an 06? Is there any major differences in the whole quad? i know the shocks have gotten better, but other than that anything else? Is there a year i should keep away from or should try to get? Thank you

The 04/05's are the same, and the 06/07's are the same. There were some changes in the frame, suspension, and the engines are completely different.

I have an 04, and a bunch of my buddies have 06's. The 06/07 has a real thrilling hit in the middle of the powerband, and to tell the truth I wish I had an 06/07!

This is not a machine I would buy used, unless you know the previous owner and he is a stickler for maintenance. I say get a new one and get an extended warranty!

 

Yea I wouldn't get a used 450r either because if they didn't keep up with maintanance you will be putting the quad in the shop alot or fixing it yourself...The 450r is a great machine as long as you take care of it maintanance wise like recon said...Another option is check you local dealer and see if you can get last years model R and you should be able to get a deal on it...Wish ya luck.

 

Is a trx 450r alot faster than a ltz 400? and are the shocks alot better?
