Can anyone tell me where to get a winch plate for my 420? I have emailed the guys at Gorilla and Venom on ebay (I plan on buying one of these that is low priced vs Warn/Ramsey) and they tell me they don't make them yet. I just called Gorilla corporate and left a message, so maybe I will hear something. Can I modify one made for a different machine? Thanks in advance!

 

i heard the mounting plate were totaly different. you could probly make your own if you have the tools

 

I have been on the hunt for the same thing for the past month. Here is what I found.
Right now the only person that makes the mount is Moose and you can only use the 1700# warn winch or the SuperwinchT2000.
I called Warn and they said they are in the process of making one, but it wont be available for 2-3 months.

That's great. Thanks for the help. The lady from gorilla called me back on Friday and said that they are in the process of building a 1500# winch because the opening is too small for any winch they currently make. Also, she said that the plate is in development it will be ready in 6-8 months. Thanks again for the help.

 

gorilla told me it was the 2000 and smaller winches. it better be cos i ordered a 2000# already

 

I'm sure that if they told you a 2000# will fit then it will. The lady I spoke with told me that they were having to build a smaller which because non of their current winches will fit, but she may not know what she was talking about. I would call them back just to make sure. Let me know how it goes.

 

For anyone else looking, here is an instruction guide for the installation of the Moose plate made for the 420. It says that you can use the Moose 1700, Warn 1500, Superwinch 1500 and 2000. The model number for the plate is Moose P/N: 4505-271.

Any word on your Gorilla 2000#. Have you tried it?

 

not yet. i still have to make a mounting plate. but it will fit in there. im hoping this weekend we get the plate made. i do know the front gaurd bar has to come off inorder to get the winch installed.

 

i finally got the gorilla installed. it works just fine. i bought this mounting plate, just follow the directions and it works perfect.
