Default HMF Slip on and optimizer for 07' AC 700 EFI

Has anyone installed this on there machine?? And if so what kind of modification or brackets are needed and how does it work? I have heard nothing but good things about HMF but that does not always mean much. Any help would be appreciated.

Boaty3,
How loud is loud?? Did you also get the quiet core with the pipe? HMF states that the pipe with quiet core should be at the 94-96 decible level. Did you also intall the optimizer? In an e-mail with HMF yesterday they told me that running the pipe without the EFI being re-calibrated would cause higher exhaust gas temperatures that could cause damage to the pipe which would void any warranty. I am waiting to hear what you think.
Thanks

Well when I say loud I mean very loud. It is way to loud for my taste. I have a quiet core ordered and will install it when it arrives. The pipe I have came with the Dobeck optimizer. I got everything on ebay. Will let you know how bad it is with the quiet core in.

You guys do know that HMF is KNOWN for being loud......well, obviously not.

HMF's are LOUD. I am quite leary as to whether or not my HMF makes 96dB with the core in.( I don't use the core, but I still don't think it makes it 96 or under)

If loud is not your thing, do NOT buy the HMF. All the good things you hear about HMF are from people that like it loud. I have heard the Speedwerx exhaust on the 650H1, and that is not nearly as loud as my HMF. Perhaps that is something you should be looking at. I am very curious however that their description for their 700 slip-on says that it includes proper jetting.....

Anyway, here is the link.

I agree it sounds awsome, but for everyday use I want a quiet core. Now when I go to the mud drags or somthing to that nature it is coming out. If the quiet core make it even a little bit quieter I will be happy for most every day riding.

A little bit quieter is what you will get. I don't notice a huge difference in volume, noticeable, but not huge. I prefer the sound without the core because of the change in tone. Most people would have to hear the difference to understand, but it seems like a more clear tone without the core.

Again, for anyone looking for a 'slightly' louder than stock exhaust...the HMF is not for you.

Boaty3,
I have an observation about this pipe. I DO NOT want to be the person riding behind. Pretty damn loud when you crack the throttle. Quiet core is in the mail. HMF told me this was a direct bolt on job with supplied fasteners. I do not know about you, but as a design engineer by profession I do not think so. I had to make a couple of aluminum brackets to offset the pipe so I could maintain a straight exhaust flow from the head pipe. The guys at HMF sent me installation photos except the machine in the photos was a 650 H2. Let me know what you ended up doing or had any problems.

I think the problem just clicked. I have an 07', things may have changed. Did engine manufacture change fro 06' to 07?

No engine manufacture is the same but that would have nothing to do with the exhaust as the exhaust is arctic cats. Mine bolted up no problem. Only thing I don't like about the design is it does not come out into the wheel well far enough and blows exhaust on my rear bumper and I am already getting a black exhaust mark on it. Only took me about 15 min to install the hole thing. I don't think they would have changed the exhaust or mounting from 06 to 07 either but could be wrong. I'll get some pics of my pipes mounting this weekend and post.
