Default ok DS 650 moter heads a little advise please

First off i want to appologize as im a little drove right now as i think i may have ruined my engine but then again mabe not
anyway i went for a ride up the hill behind my house and kinda got hung up in a snow bank and was turning the quad around when i killed it ..
when i got off i looked down and im pouring oil like a big dog cant see anyreason for it until i notice the wonderful oil hose comming from the tank to the engine the only one without a real hose type clamp is blown off and the oil is comming from there ..
needless to say the oil tank is now empty and not sure how long ago the hose blew off ... i put the hose back on fired it up real quick to make sure it wasnt sezed and it wasnt but no oil pressure on my gage naturally so instantly shut it down and began the long coast back to my house ..
well i get home and drain the crankcase about a cup of oil in there and about another cup in the oil tank mabe a half quart all togeather.. and it looks like moly oil lots of babit materal ..
when i checked the filter in the oil tank she was clean and when i pulled the oil filter i could see metalic micro specks in the sunlight ...
so im bummed big time although she never got hot the oil is castrol 10/40 and still slippery as ever no sign of being burnt .. and then it dawns on me hell it lubeing the tranny clutch ect and its going to be a little metalic ..
so whats the opinions change the filter fill er back up and drive it keeping and eye on the oil pressure of course ...

hell of it is this bike mabe has 150 miles on it i bought it new and its never been abused only changed the oil in it once ... so now what to do ????
any advise on where or who to get a master kit from should i rebuild it,, as well as a good manual would be greatly appreaceated too
i cant imagine it needing anything more than bearings and rings and a gasket kit of course ..
thanks for the input guys and sorry for the long rant but this is the only place to turn to as im kinda in BFE out here

thanks again

Did you notice an oil trail behind you before you hit the snow bank? Did your oil light come on while you were riding?

The metallic silver in the oil is normal, as long as there was oil in it and you shut it off when you noticed the line off it should be fine. I would change the oil and run it, but first I would get a good hose clamp on that hose. I've done the same thing in the back yard except I wheelied over and broke off that fitting.

I would also check for oil pressure after putting new oil in if your light doesn't go out when it is full.

no couldnt really see an oil trail .. and a real hose clamp is allready in place i just cant find a filter in our little po-dunk town so ive got to wait until i get to Reno or order one from online some place ..
im just wondering what kind of pressure that crankcase has on it? i replaced the phony gasket on the dipstick with an O-ring as it would leak and make a hell of a mess..
im thinking that it should be vented better if its going to have much pressure on it ?
not only do i have the idiot light that dosent work correct due to the sending unit ,, i've put a regular oil pressure guage on it a few yrs ago.. but sad to say i was watching the trail and not the gage

Your line probably came off when you landed in the snow, no big deal. You can get a filter from Rockymountainatv, they are about 5-6 bucks from them. I have got mine from our Yamaha dealer, they ordered it out of a parts direct catalog and had it in 2 days.

I don't know how much pressure there should be, I'm guessing about 15 but don't hold me to it. When you get it full of oil and go to crank it, pull out the sending unit and it should pump out oil as soon as you crank it. Do this with the run switch in the off position so it doesn't make a huge mess.

There used to be a dealer in Susanville. I had a tenant whos dad owned a dealership there. I even sent my 01 ds650 back with him in 03 for some warrenty work. They did a wonderfull job for me. I can't remember the name right now but they sold ski doo as well. Do you know what happened to them?

On another note....I dont think anything is seriously hurt on that bike.

Fix your oil line.

Change you oil and filter.

Do as Seth explained and you should be good to go.

PS: Put some good oil back in this machine...it deserves it.

if oil filters are hard to get in your area and you have to order one any way, maybe you should consider a Scott stainless filter( they are washed and reused) they are about $80.00. i'm not sure about your oil pressure, but i also installed a guage in the dash & mine does around 40lbs at idlewhen it is warmed up. if you need parts (hopefully not) check out bikebandit.com as they have a great supply of OEM and aftermarkets parts and were MUCH cheaper than the dealer. got all my parts in under a week from them.
