Well I think that the battery is dead now(stock). All it does is make a clicking noise. I have cash i my E-bay account so if some one can find one for me that would be great. I looked already and the model they sell is for a 00-03. will they work in my 05 model plus lets keep it under a 100.00 bucks.

Thanks
Bryan

This is only my experience so take it for what it's worth. I ran the metal jacketed PC545 for quite some time and was more than pleased. Then I developed some electrical gremlins and the problem was narrowed down to the battery. Took it in for testing and it had developed an internal short. Replaced under warranty after much hassle from the local dealer, whom I didn't buy it from but was told by Hawker that they should have replaced it on the spot. The new one they gave me didn't make it through the second dune trip before it shat the bed. Took it in and it was again replaced under warranty.

No problems with the third one so far and it has about four dune trips on it right now. Still, it's always in the back of my mind when I'm out in the middle of Glamis and miles away from civilization.

My closest Odyssey dealer is an hour and a half away and gas just surpassed $3 per gallon here, so if you don't mind a trip or two to the dealer on occasion then by all means get ya one. Like I said, this is only my experience and I know others who have ran theirs several years with not one problem. Maybe it's that the metal jacket doesn't provide the shock protection of the plastic shell but it's a gell battery so in my mind that shouldn't affect it. I like the jacket for added protection from rocks.

It might have something to do with the hours as we've done an easy twenty dune trips since September and put on at a minimum of 100 miles each trip.

Good Luck

PC545

I bought my first pc545 in 2004. My second one I bought about a month ago. It lasted about a day and a half :-(
Everything checked out fine. Charging 14.17 at all rpms. So that would seem to indicate that the regulator and magneto / picup coil etc are all fine. Nope. According to my manual. It says that when everything checks out fine, then you can assume the regulator is bad So I bought a new regulator and stock battery and made through a 4 day weekend. I recharged the pc545 and now it starts my DS. It would not do that before I replaced the regulator. even after recharging it.
Any way I said all that jibberish just to say the pc545 lasted me perrty much 3 years the first time around. And I ride a lot.
