Shinima Bushman

I just purchased a Shinima 200U from Jason @ Shinima in California. (Shinima.com) 2 other friends involed/ 4 unit purchase total.
He seemed incredibly accomodating, answered our countless questions. We worked out what I considered was a super price based on a 4 unit sale. The ATV's were shipped yesterday. I have not seen much in the way of discussions regarding Shinima's. Either way it's on the way, and it's mine now, so I will try to keep the members posted on the quality of the unit.
I just wanted to give Jason some credit, He made the sale and the start of the process go smoothly.

Well good luck.Shinima was formaly known as Yamoto. Yamoto was sued by Yamaha last year. Yamoto had a joint venture with patriot motorcycle but patriot broke off because of Yamoto being sued. Yamoto is no longer being produced. Although they did make decent quads they copied a little too close to Yamaha so thats why Yamoto brand is no longer being made. As far as I know Jason has been there for a long time. Yamoto started up in 2003. They were maybe the biggest Chinese importer next to Kazuma/Redcat. In efforts to get even bigger they joined with Patriot motorcycle in 2005. Everything was fine till Yamaha stepped in and pretty much dismantled Yamoto. Hopefully the product and service is still good.
Let us know how everything goes.

Update. My new Bushman200 is in Utah. Supposed to be in New York by Thursday, for pick up Thursday afternoon. I am so, going to be sick (from work) Friday. Sorry guys from work, I feel a touch of a bug coming on.
Jason from Shinima called again. Just to asks if I had any questions, and to see if I recieved the assembly packet he sent as well as a couple tips. Not bad service in my book. He has stayed in touch, and updated me. I'm impressed, especially after reading some of the absolute horror stories from members who never heard from anyone after the dealer took thier money, and waited an unreasonable amount of time for delivery.
So far:
Price = excellent
Reaching Dealer = excellent (via phone)
Dealers knowledge of his product = excellent
Dealers patience with MANY questions = excellent
Unit shipped within 48 hours as promised = excellent (shipped same day!)
Dealer taking time to update status/ supply info promptly = excellent (without being asked!)
I'm sure somethings got to give sometime soon. The buying/shipping experience has been great so far. I told all of you members I would keep you posted, so here I am. More to follow.

I too purchased an ATV (150) from Jason at Shinima and so far the service has been great! The only problem I have had with my daughter's machine is a broken chain. The first time we went riding after Christmas, we went on some of the muddiest trails I've ever seen and, other than getting stuck a few times and the broken chain, the ATV performed great. The second ride was last weekend on dry trails and it ran perfect all day long. Like I said in an earlier post, the maintenance required may be a little more than the major brands, but for the price I believe Shinima is an excellent machine.

UPDATE!
Finally got it today. With out much to compare it to (except the big 4's units at the dealers) I would have to say it's put together better than I thought it would be. Clutch needed adjustment and two wires were unhooked. Luckily my buddie got his the same day so I had 1 to compare the wire harness to. The sticker on the unit has the gears labled backwards, but once the little bugs were worked out, it was all good.
For the price I am quite pleased with the machine and Jason did everything promised, so I would definitely recommend him and his Atv's. It has been a good buying experience.
Rode it for about an hour in the slush and snow and 39 degree temps. I couldn't wait. Lots of water due to the snowmelt. It went through just about everything except for the 14" of water that I dropped the right front tire in and didn't shift fast enough to get her back out. I must say I was looking for it though.
Avid snowmobiler, but I think this might have 1 up on that. (with central NY's 1 month riding season)

thefist,
It's great to hear everything worked out. So Shinima came through for you? That's great. It is kind of nice to see a forum member have a good experience with their dealer or supplier. Most turn sour after the sale because the dealer or supplier just do not care about any issues that may arise.
Keep us posted on how the quad holds up and how well Shinima deals with you after the sale.
Also if you ever get a chance post some pics or video of your new ride.
Have a good one.
