Default gas lines

I've done some searches on here and cant find any info...Ive got a Scrambler 400 that i'm fixing up, not that it matters, but i was wondering if you can replace the plastic gas lines with the plastic tubing you can buy from the hardware store. Is it the same stuff? I've heard gas can dissolve plastic, but wasn't sure about these. should i just get some braided ones? wasnt sure how much they were, but cant be much.
what do you think?
thanks!

most gas cans are plastic so i dont think that would be an issue. however sometimes the enigne heat can make them hard and brittle and maybe the vibration could crack them. just my own thought on it.
