There are plows and mounting kits available for the Scrambler/Sport ranging in price from under $400 to over $700. Has anyone used a plow on a Scrambler and if so, how well did it work?

Yeah you can get them. My buddy tried with his 500 and it didn't work very well, without low range your going to just chew up belts. Unless you don't think you need to push much snow, I'd probably not recommend it.

well being that he is from Gorgia i dont think that he would have to push much snow. if it got deep u would burn up belts fast, because of no low range.

Since you are talking about the Scrambler/Sport, I assume you are talking about a 2wd. Two major problems exist with using the 2wd Scrambler for plowing.

1. The plow puts a lot of weight forward, making traction on the rear tires less. This is not a problem on the 4wd models, but is on the 2wd models. This can be overcome by putting weight on the rear racks to regain traction, but there are no racks (unless you have installed them) on the scrambler.

2. The lack of low range will play havoc on the belt. Expect that you will ruin the belt in a short time if you have to plow in high. Being you are from Georgia where snowfalls should be light, this will lessen this problem.

Hope this helps. Not trying to cast a dark cloud on your ideas, just trying to point out potential pitfalls.

Thanks for your input. Sorry my profile had incorrect info--I live in Colorado and not Georgia, so that may change your replies somewhat.

By asking about a Scrambler/Sport I meant that they have the same frame and the same mount kit would work on both of them. I have 2 99 Scrambler 500 awd.

It sounds like pushing the snow with no low range would probably not be good for the quads. I already have a 10hp snow thrower, but I just thought haveng a snowplow would mean even more of what I like best: riding my quad.

Thanks for your replies.

I know a guy who plows with his '97 400L Scrambler. He says he had no problems and I actually wanted one for a bit. I live in the city, so theres not much to plow unless I go up and down the block. But don't get me wrong, I still get alot of snow, being just outside the primary snow belt. I just thought for me a snowblower would be better.
