Default Jetmoto 250 or the Viva 300

Hello all first off I would like to say it is nice to have a forum for the lesser known quads I have been researching for quit awhile now and the information you guys have to share is very impressive. So thank you all who are willing and wanting to help us out. I guess my question is kinda simple im in the market to get two atv one for me and my girlfriend. Im currently looking at the very impressive jetmoto 250 sport or the Viva 300. Both are around 2K. As far as riding goes I dont plan on jumping anything crazy just trails and in town(south dakota we can license them as motorcycles and they are street legal). So what would be the best one to go with pro's con's I know the customer service from raceway is hard to beat I have been told. Anyway any comments to help steer me along would be great.
Thanks
Brett

I wish there was more people that would speak up about these Viva quads, I have yet to read any reviews! There are a couple people on here that has bought the Coolsport that is just like the Viva minus the nice whhels and other extras and they have been happy I believe.
You can read my reports of my new Jetmotos in the Raceways area, I bought two 250's!

Welcome to the forum Medic73!

I wouild reccomend the Jetmoto 250. Its definitely made with better materials and I guarantee you will be able to buy parts in 5 years from Jetmoto. Im not sure if the other 2 will even be around in 5 years.

Hey thanks guys like I told outofline I have been reading your posts for quite awhile now, and you all seem to know a thing or two about these chinese quads. Which is god for someone like me who knows very little so far but am l learning as much as I can. Once again thanks for the replies but it seems I am leaning more towads the jetmoto there just isn't enough information about the other brands that I looked at. And I know that every bike you buy whether from the big 4 or chinese will break down so its nice to have parts and customer service at your fingertips.

well thanks again guys and keep us all posted how those quads do for you this season

Medic,

I can't speak directly for Viva, but my Coolsports 250 is VERY similar. www.anccoolsports.com

It has been a good machine and can handle a moderate amount (in my book) of abuse. I smoked my clutches 2 weeks ago and am having the devil's time getting the right tools (funky 4 lug spanner socket)/ and parts.

CoolSports is new, so they're still getting their supply line down. So far they shipped me the entire clutch assembly (basket, plates, etc.) for only $70, but they shipped the 250 Ute assembly! It won't fit the sport! DOH!

they are very willing to accommodate, but the 250 (300 as well) are fairly new so parts are harder to get.

Personally, if I had to do it again, I'd definitely get an oil or water cooled bike (heat led to my clutch plates micro-welding), and probably go with raceway.

Hey thanks for the reply bigdaddy I have also read alot of your posts and seem your pics of the coolsport in a nice slide i guess another question the i need to ask it the viva 300 i read is only a 229cc an old honda motor from a helix which brings me to the question of the 250 viva's cause i think there are 2 of them are they using the same engine and maybe just different plastics and better shocks and other parts not sure if this has caught anyone elses attention or not. anyway I agree with you that i think i am going to go with a 250 JM if nothing else the customer service i have heard about it great and with a quad that (not saying it will)break dowm sooner or later parts and service are a great thing. I would love to see a 250 JM video and someone actually riding it not crazy just get on it and ride it around and let me see what it can do with you. I think at this time there should be a quite a few people who have bought them and also own a video camera. So if you read this and have a JM 200 or 250 I would love to see some video of it in action.

thanks to everyone here this forum is one of the best around

Brett

Medic,

Most Chin-Quads 200 and below seem to use a variation of the GY6 Honda scotter motor. Most above that use what seems like dirt bike motors. The CS250 is pretty much a CRF250F. The jetmoto looks to be an older Yamaha clone (oil cooled).

Question about these quads using the scooter motors. I know they make kits that can make the scooters really scream. Has anyone used any of those parts on their quads, or even considered it?

Just wondering what the clutch kits, CDI's and exhaust would do for some of these.

They also have roller bearing kits and other mods for the tranny and engine itself. The Gy6 Motors have lots of upgrades available.
