Hello i bought a 2004 sp 500 and upon changing the belt i noticed a non stock clutch set up. it has an orange spring and what looks like heel clicker weights, cause they have an extra piece on them. i was surprized that the atv had a clutch kit in it cause it did not seem that powerful compared to my 01sp. virtually no diff. what can you do with this clutch kit to make the bottom end a little more responsive?

 

Moving weight to the tip will increase top end speed, moving it towards thebase will increase low end torque. If you would like me to fax a copy of my H/C directions, give me a fax number! yea i really sucks that the h/c site is closed down it had al that info on there.i hope they get back to putting it up. a great tool.

 

wow, the orange spring and h/c weights should engage about 3000 rpms and dam near rip the bars out of your hands ..

 

3000 rpm u say? what does a sp idle at like 1000? it defently isnt like that. perhaps these arent heel clicker wieghts? i mean how many weights look like heel clickers? im assuming none, they are the only weights ive seen that have that extra buldge at the back of the weight. if these turn out to be heel clicker wieghts what could be my problem?

 

oh and the primary appears to be in good working order. the weights are not nothced or grooved, ebs clutch works fine, shivs are not worn.

maybe i dont have a heel clicker clutch kit? mine does not have the three holes in the weights. could it possible be an older one?

 

Yep, older kit if you do not have the 3 holes for the weights and screws!

 

Right, the older kits had 2 holes, the newer ones have 3!
