Brute Force 650i or King Quad?
Hi everyone. I'm selling my Kodiak and buying a big-bore ute. I'm deciding between the Brute Force 650i and King Quad. I do trail riding, a good amount of mudding, some hillclimbs, and fire roads. I've heard that what the Brute lacks in handling it makes up for in mudding abilities and low-end power. I have ridden my dad's Brute Force 650 w/SRA, and it's hard to handle, but they supposedly upgraded the steering for '07 on the Brutes...I've never ridden a King Quad before, but I've heard it's easier to steer. Which do you think I should buy? Thanks!

All the pros that you mentioned about the BF 650i are true, ecspecially the low end power. I personally haven't ever driven a kawi V-twin, but I do know A LOT about them and it's a FACT that they have incredible low end grunt which is great for mudding. I have the King 700 and it handles very well and is excellent for trails, but it is a bit lacking under 10mph due to a severe detune done by Suzuki, a replacement ECU is still to come out from VDI to eliminate this problem, but that would be an added ~$500 on top of what you would pay for a King.
If you really are wanting the most power for your money, I'm going to have to say go with the BF 650i, but if you want slightly better handling with EFI I'd have to say the King Quad 700. They are both excellent ATV's, power is the biggest difference here IMO.
out of 10 King Quad
Power 7
Handling 8.5
Value 7
4wd 9.5
BF 650i
Power 9.5
Handling 7
Value 10
4wd 8

The BF 650i really might be worth the extra $500. Not only do you get IRS (which means much higher ground clearance), but Kawasaki upgraded the orginal BF 650's 633cc V-twin with several of the Bf 750i's higher performance parts such as a lighter crankshaft and better CDI. The bf 650i has a very powerful motor in it, some have said very comparable powerband to the BF 750's, that's saying a lot about the amount of power you'd be gaining by spending the extra money. I would personally pay an extra $500 for Indepent Rear Suspension alone. Hopefully some V-twin owners will chime in and give their opinion for you.
