Default Bumpsteer on Baby Falcon

I was all set to buy my son a baby Falcon 110 and had my local dealer get a hold of one.
I was a little disappointed when I saw it. The front suspension was almost nonexistent and had quite a bit of bumpsteer when it did flex.
The headlights also did not work, no rear skid for the sproket and no rear light.
I had seen a Falcon Deluxe the week before and was very impressed by the suspension on that quad but it is a too big for my 8 (almost 9) year old son.
I saw a recent post about bumpsteer and it was due to improper assembly. Could this be the case or do the Baby Falcon's just have it?

I have looked at a Boreem 110 and they have everything I want but it may be a little big also.
The Boreem also has a very open foot area.........it looks like ther could be a net down there but there is not.
Anyone have the Boreem? Opinions?

Default Bumpsteer on Baby Falcon

I first saw the Kazuma's on Raceway.com. I just have a hard time paying $1000.00 for something I haven't seen or rode. I don't think anything would be any different except the lights would work because I would do it myself.

What about the bumpsteer issue? Was the quad put together wrong or do the baby Falcon's just have the kind of front end that causes it?

Can someone tell me how much bigger the Jetmoto 110 is compard to the Baby Falcon?
I don't think that anyone in my area sells Jetmoto.........

The JetMoto 110 seat height is 26" while the falcon delux is 31". The JetMoto is more the size of the baby falcon but wider stance. I have some pics of my 9yo and 4yo on some quads from Raceway. I think the JetMoto 110 is more his size. Also most kids dont care about bumpsteer or even notice it. They just like to ride.

If the tie rod ends were installed wrong it will have bumpsteer but any single a arm quad will have more bumpsteer than a dual a arm setup. The regular baby falcon is single while the delux is dual

We just picked up a BMS 110.
Anything I should do before he gets it in the dirt. It is fully assembled.........
Should I change the oil? If so what weight is best for those 110 motors.
Seems to be tuned well. Has a cheap looking carb that is a Mikuni, but I've never seen one like that....
Suspension is much better then the Kazuma Baby Falcon and the price was the same. Other then that they are pretty close but the BMS does have rear disk and a sproket/brake protector.

What the BMS doesn't have is any real protection at the pegs. Most notably between the front tire and the foot pegs. It does have some framework below the pegs and it looks almost like something is missing but I've looked on their own website and that's the way it is.
I plan on fabricating something either from aluminum or possibly some 1/8" steel or something.
Any ideas? I will try and post a pic.

Just change the oil with a 4 stroke atv/motorcycle oil or even a 15w40 diesel oil. It should be JASO MA certified for wet clutch applications. Dont use a regular automotive oil. Go over all teh nuts and bolts and I would recommend using Locktite wherever you can get your hands on. Bolts will come loose if you dont. Good luck and post some pics.
