sluggish when I throttle??
#1
This last week or so Ive noticed that when I throttle down hard the bike barely responds then slowly starts to get better untill Im at full speed. It seems to be getting worse in the last couple of days.If I go real easy on the throttle then gradually give it gas Its still doing it but not near as bad....Im no mechanic but Im learning alot as I go .Does anyone have any suggestions where to start?I know its gotta be something with the carb ....but what???Thanks as always for any help!

could need a good service if he didnt use it much and gas went bad at any time. i was thinking maybe the belt or clucth but it shouldnt be after only 500 miles.

I did put some gas out of my lawm mower can in it couple of weeks ago.(I dont usually do that) Its pretty low so Ill refill it with some good gas.I cleaned my air filter and blew through my fuel filter last week.as far as the carb goes Im clueless ....I know very little about the mechanics of one.......as far as servicing the bike.I have changed all the fluids ,what else could I do to service it?thanks alot

fuel filter would need to be replaced. really not a good servicable part. check all vent lines to be sure there clear and free of being pinched anywhere. what i mean by service is taking the carb off and doing a good cleaning. does this rev up good in neutral or does it still bog some. just trying to figure if its the carb or clutching. somethings they will act the same.

you dont ned to dis-conect the throttle or choke cables to clean out the carb.. i would pull the slide out and clean and then i would pull the bowl and jets out to clean w/ carb cleaner... VERY SIMPLE , just take your time .. i completly tore mine and cleaned about a 3 weeks ago ,i dont think it took ME a 1/2 hr start to finish...BE CAREFUL OF THE BOWL SCREWS THE HEADS STRIP REAL EASY I LIKE TO BRAKE THEM LOOSE W/ A SMALL PAIR OF VISEGRIPS... thats the hardest part.....good luck to ya ,,, SAVAGE OUT!
