Thanks, I've been to the web site and can't find exactly where it describes the difference between the two technologies.

Ok, I'll explai the best a 15 yr old can:
The Coincentric Drive and Independant Shaft Drive are two very different things.

The scrambler uses a chain drive in the rear, and a shaft drive in the front (on the 4x4). The concentric drives refers to the technology used by the CHAIN drive(in the rear). The definition of concetric is- sharing the same radius of something like that. It lines up the axle, swing-arm, and the drive sproket, increasing traction and putting more power to the ground. It is a cinch to adjust the chain on the scramblers. it took me five minutes the first time I did it.
The independent shaft drive on the Sportsman use INDEPENDENT SHAFTS to power the wheels. There are NO chains on the Sportsman(fyi). Although all 4WD Polaris' share the same 4WD system, the Sportsman is truly the best because the independant rear suspension and independant front suspension ensure more tire-ground contact, thus more traction!

I did the best I could. lol
Ryde on!

I'll give it a try.

Concentric drive refers to the drive sprocket and swing arm pivot being "in line", so that wherever the swing arm is in it's arc, the tension on the chain is the same.

The Sportsman IRS uses seperate drive shafts and double A-arm system for each rear wheel. All wheels travel independently of each other. On a hard axel swing arm system, both rear wheels move up and down together.

Was that any help at all ?

Dave
