Default Steering stem Interchange

Hi, I have a question about steering stem interchange on my 02 sportsman 700
I'm looking at replacing my stem and was looking for a used one.
but what I found out from the parts lookup is that almost all the years
after & including mine are replaced by the same part number. 2202825 KIT

Does this mean a stock 04 or 05 stem will fit my 02 even though is a different original part number
Thanks in advance, Bob

2202825 (replaces 1821112-067) for 2002

2202825 (replaces 1013920-067) for 2003

2202825 (replaces 1013920-067) for early 2004

2202825 (replaces 1822630-067) for late 2004

2202825 (replaces 1822630-067) for 2005

2202825 (replaces 1822630-067) for 2006

at worldofpowersports.com it indicates different part numbers as you describe on your post.. where did you find this updated part list for the steering stem?

I found this info in another look-up site.
Hope it's OK to post it here.

you're right. that's what the website is indicating. i'd call another part distrbutor to cross reference that information though. that'l keep you sane when you find a used one and you'll know for sure that is the correct one.

The odd thing is, if you put the 2202825 in the Pure Polaris cross lookup, it has no listing or can't find one.

Lots of 04 shafts out there, but I'd hate to find out the hard way
