I just purchased a Honda 250r(84') on ebay. Guy said runs great but 3rd gear is out. So for 455 I bought it. Thought I got a great deal. DON"T THINK SO!!! I went to start it up when I got it home, by the way it was a 6.5 hr drive one way, got there and it was pouring and I didn't start it or anything. So I noticed the shut off valve was off, I turned it on and it leaked gas from the bottom of the float bowl on the carb out of the overflow tube. I tore the carb apart cleaned all the parts w/ carb cleaner and put it back together. The roads in OH SUCK so I thought maybe the float was stuck. Put it back together and still leaked. I figured it would run for 30 secs w/ the gas that was in there and it did after 3 kicks. Then I heard VERY VERY LOUD KNOCKING coming from the motor. That would require an overhaul right?? Also what upgrades should I have done if that is the case?? 300kit?? Bored over?? Please help. I'll take anything!!! HA HA
