hard shifting bayou
#3
what model bayou is it. it sounds like the clutch wasnt adjusted properly when the dealer set it up if its 220 or 250 on the right side of the atv as you are sitting on it normally there is a little black cover with 2 screws. remove the screws then loosen the 12mm lock nut under the cap. turn the flathead screw clockwise until resistance is felt then trun the screw counterclockwise until resistance is felt. hold the screw from moving and tighten the locknut.

Hi, I owned a 2002 220 Bayou and from brand new it was annoyingly hard to upshift from 1st to 2nd. I did the adjustment mentioned with the autoclutch mechanism but was of no help really....it did improve slightly over the years but was always tough on the 1st to 2nd. Anyone who would drive it for one minute would mention this too me.
